Information about the university entrance exam selection process has been put up at Komaba Library!

When choosing a faculty or department, what do you value most?

Alongside curriculum, one major factor is often the laboratory or research group you may join.

At the same time, searching for a lab is not only about deciding what you want to study.

It can also be a way to think about how you want to engage with society in the future.

Infrastructure maintenance, human care, cybersecurity.

The work that supports society will continue to be needed.

So within that,

what kinds of fields or subjects do you want to be involved with?

If you follow those interests, many of them ultimately connect to a broader theme: the environment.

When people hear the word “environment,” they may first think of climate change.

In reality, however, environmental fields are deeply connected to the foundations of society itself — including energy, resources, disaster prevention, sanitation, and food systems.

For this exhibition, we created posters introducing research conducted in laboratories across mainly science-related faculties, all centered around the theme of “environment,” and displayed them in the exhibition space near Media Park on the first floor of the library.

The exhibition is also organized by faculty — including Engineering, Agriculture & Arts and Sciences, and Science — so that visitors can explore laboratories based on the kinds of fields they feel drawn to.

Whether viewing the exhibition or helping create it,

we invite you to explore the world of scholarship and technology that supports society through the lens of “environment.”
